[ET Net News Agency, 29 September 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$309.1 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$40.9 billion, or 13.23% of the
market's turnover. There were 767 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.5 billion and HK$3.31
billion, or 13.45% and 8.08% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 23.81% and 18.48% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$2.41 billion and HK$1.1 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.9% and 2.69% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 17.89% and 40.81% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$6.9, or 4.14%, to HK$173.4. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$1.1, or 2.01%, to
HK$53.55. TENCENT rose HK$16, or 2.48% to HK$660. BIDU-SW jumped HK$2.4, or 1.86%, to
HK$131.5.
