[ET Net News Agency, 21 August 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$124.18 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.21 billion, or 13.86% of the
market's turnover. There were 713 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and MEITUAN-W
(03690) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.2 billion and HK$931.27
million, or 6.97% and 5.41% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 26.69% and 36.59% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$788.7 million and HK$731.23
million of short sales, accounting for 4.58% and 4.25% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 20.36% and 13.08% of respective stock's
turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed down HK$1.3, or 2.47%, to HK$51.25. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$1.8, or
1.49%, to HK$119. TENCENT rose HK$4, or 0.68% to HK$594.5. TRACKER FUND declined by
HK$0.02, or 0.08%, to HK$25.64.
