HK$121.26 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.04 billion, or 15.7% of the
market's turnover. There were 749 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.54 billion and HK$1.08
billion, or 8.09% and 5.69% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 22.66% and 20.47% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.02 billion and HK$894.35 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.37% and 4.7% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 11.47% and 40.81% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.2, or 0.72%, to HK$27.58. TENCENT ended up HK$4, or 0.59%,
to HK$677.5. BABA-W fell HK$4.6, or 2.49% to HK$180.5. HSCEI ETF declined by HK$0.84, or
0.85%, to HK$97.78.
