[ET Net News Agency, 30 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$159.2 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.33 billion, or 10.26% of the
market's turnover. There were 733 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.03 billion and HK$756.23
million, or 12.45% and 4.63% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 16.86% and 13.11% of respective stock's turnover.
ZIJIN MINING (02899) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$699.43 million and HK$585.43
million of short sales, accounting for 4.28% and 3.59% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 30.84% and 11.43% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$1.7, or 0.98%, to HK$175.1. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.2, or 0.37%, to
HK$53.35. ZIJIN MINING fell HK$0.3, or 0.93% to HK$31.86. TENCENT jumped HK$0.5, or 0.08%,
to HK$660.5.
