[ET Net News Agency, 21 August 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$239.49 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$36.19 billion, or 15.11% of the
market's turnover. There were 745 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.53 billion and HK$1.86
billion, or 6.98% and 5.13% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 30.4% and 24.71% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.77 billion and HK$1.42 billion
of short sales, accounting for 4.88% and 3.92% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 20.85% and 12.87% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed down HK$3.7, or 3.06%, to HK$117.1. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$1.2, or
2.28%, to HK$51.35. TENCENT rose HK$2.5, or 0.42% to HK$593. TRACKER FUND declined by
HK$0.04, or 0.16%, to HK$25.62.
