[ET Net News Agency, 20 August 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$144.4
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.99 billion, or 11.77% of the market's
turnover. There were 726 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and TRACKER FUND (02800)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.39 billion and HK$1.35 billion, or
8.18% and 7.97% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
27.23% and 25.86% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and POP MART (09992) registered HK$738.3 million and HK$498.82 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.35% and 2.94% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 15.98% and 8.07% of respective stock's
turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed down HK$0.15, or 0.29%, to HK$52.25. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.12, or
0.47%, to HK$25.5. TENCENT fell HK$5, or 0.84% to HK$587.5. POP MART jumped HK$24.2, or
8.62%, to HK$305.
